    Özet

    Yaşadığımız yüzyılda, doğrudan medeniyetler arasında değil ama medeniyetler üzerinden yürütülmeye çalışılan bir çatışmadan söz edebiliriz. İslam coğrafyalarında sömürgeci güçlerin bize dayattığı ‘çatışma’ temelli fikri ve kültürel yapıya nasıl direneceğiz? Bunun yolu ve yordamı, Batı düşünce yapısını iyi kavramak, Batı’nın zaaf noktalarını deşifre etmek ve alternatif projeler ortaya koymaktır. Eğer biz, düşünce boyutunda Batı’nın açmazlarını ortaya çıkarabilirsek bu durum, sadece İslam dünyasında değil, Batı toplumlarının merkezinde de adalet ve hakkaniyete dayalı söylem, anlamlar haritasını değiştirecektir. İslam dünyasının maddi anlamda güçsüzlüğüne rağmen, bizde hoşgörü, açıklık ve değerler çizgisi daima yukarı doğru çıkarken, Batı’da bu çizgi sürekli bir düşüş göstermektedir. Olaya, mantıksal açıdan yaklaşmak gerekirse, biz ne Batı ülkelerine bir alternatif ve ne de Batı ülkelerinin bize alternatif olmasını istiyoruz. Aksine biz, sadece kendimiz olmak noktasında ‘medeniyet özgürlüğü’ istiyoruz. Bugün, entelektüel düzeyde Doğu-Batı kültür ve düşüncesine aşina olmuş ve kendi medeniyet evreninden beslenen ve seslenen entelektüellerimize
    büyük ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır.

    Abstract

    In the age we live we may speak of a clash that is being carried out not between civilizations but over civilizations. How can we resist the thinking and cultural structure based on “conflict” imposed on us by the colonial powers in the Muslim geographies? The method for this is to understand well the structure of Western thinking, to decipher the weak points of the West and to develop alternative projects. If we are able to discover the deadlocks of the West in the thinking dimension, this will change the discourse and meaning map based on the justice and righteousness not only in the Muslim world but also in the center of Western societies. Despite the economic weakness of the Muslim world, while the line of tolerance, openness and values go up, that line goes down continuously in the West. If we approach the matter logically we want neither to be an alternative to the Western countries, nor the Western countries to be alternative to us. To the opposite, we want, at the point of being ourselves, “a freedom of civilization”. Today there is a great need to intellectuals, who are familiar with the Eastern and Western cultures and thoughts and who are nourishing from our own civilization universe and addressing it at the same time.
