    Said Nursi’s Concept of Civilization -A Criticism to an Uncivilized Civilization

    Özet

    Bir çok alanda yeni krizlerle karşı karşıya olan insanlığı huzura kavuşturabilecek yeni bir medeniyet tasavvuru üzerine düşünmek gerekiyor. Bu çerçevede, mevcut Batılı medeniyet ve bunu oluşturan bilgi, bilim kavramlarının eleştirel tahlili gerekir. Çünkü dini ve metafizik değerlerden arındırılmış seküler, maddeci-pozitivist bilgi, bilim tasavvuru ve bunlar üzerine kurulu medeniyet anlayışının taşınmasıyla insan insanın kurdu haline geldi: Kitle katliamları yapılmaya; bireysel anlamda bencillik, hazcılık, faydacılık ve sefahat öncelenmeye başlandı. Eğer yeni bir medeniyet anlayışı kurgulamak ve hayata geçirmek istiyorsak, öncelikle 17-19.yüzyıllara hâkim olan pozitivist “bilgi güçtür, güç de bilgidir” anlayışının tutarlılığının tahlil etmek gerekiyor. Nitekim bu yaklaşım bilgi-bilim felsefesi bağlamında ciddi eleştirilere uğramaya başladı. Bu bağlamda, pozitivist öğretiye ciddi eleştiriler yönelten Risale-i Nur, bilim-din uzlaşması genellemesine düşmeden incelenecek, İslam Medeniyetini kuran felsefi düşüncenin temellerine işaret edilecektir. Bu iki medeniyetin iki farklı paradigma olduğunu, birbirinden benzeyen, ayrılan ve çelişen noktaların neler olduğu ve bunun nedenleri üzerine durulacaktır. Said Nursi’nin eleştirdiği felsefenin hangi paradigmanın görüşüne tekabül ettiği araştırılacak ve temel kavramlarının Farabi gibi Müslüman filozoflardan farklı olup olmadığı sorgulanacaktır. İlahi Risaletlerin birliği çerçevesinde üretilen medeniyet ile “Mim”siz Medeniyet kavramları arasındaki fark vurgulanacaktır. Böylece, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kuruluş felsefesinin pozitivist felsefeden etkilenmesinin olası sonuçlarına da işaret edilmesi hedeflenmektedir.

    Abstract

    We need to think over the concept of a new civilization that may bring peace to humanity that face crises in many areas. In this framework we have to analyze with a critical approach the present Western civilization and its concepts of knowledge and science, because by having a secular, positivistmateralist knowledge and science isolated from religious and metaphysic values and a civilization based on these concepts, man became man’s wolf: massacres, individual egoism, hedonism, utilitarianism and recreation attained priority. Therefore if we really want to build and realize a new understanding of civilization, we need to analyze the consistency of the understanding which is expressed by “Knowledge is power, and power is knowledge” and which prevailed the 17th-19th centuries. As a matter of fact this approach to the philosophy of knowledge and science began to take serious criticism. In this context without falling into the generalization of science-religion compromise, we will analyze Risale-I Nur that directs serious criticism to the positivist doctrine and we will try to point out to the basic principles of the philosophical thinking that built the Islamic civilization. We will consider that these two civilizations are two different paradigms with similar, different and conflicting points and their reasons. We will research the views of paradigm that correspond to the philosophy criticized by Said Nursi and question whether his basic concepts are different or not from those of Muslim philosophers like Farabi. The difference between the civilization produced within the framework of the unity of Divine Prophethoods and that developed by Western “uncivilized” civilization will be emphasized. Thus it is aimed to point out the possible consequences of how the founding philosophy of the Turkish Republic has been influenced by the positivist philosophy.
